Overview of Binder Clips

A binder clip is a device, commonly used in modern offices, that can hold a few to many sheets of paper.  The clips leave the paper intact and can be removed easily without damage to the paper, like staples.  Binder clips don't have to be just for paper! Binder clips can serve as a bookmark, a money clip, a phone holder, an organizer and more!  Smaller sized binder clips have even been used as a quick fix to fitting/ sizing in the fashion industry.

The binder clip was invented by Louis Baltzley.  He invented it to help his father, Edwin Baltzley.  Edwin was a writer and an inventor.  Louis decided to create the binder clip to help hold all of his fathers manuscripts and papers together in an easier fashion.  The original design has been changed five times but the basics of the device has stayed the same.

There are many different sizes and colored binder clips depending on what you would like.

Binder clips can have many purposes and if we really think about it, what we do without them?  They are extremely helpful!
